Operations Manager – Repairs

At MSV Housing we’re committed to making sure our customers have good quality safe homes and our Operations Manager is key to making this happen.  

The role provides operational leadership for MSV’s responsive and voids repairs service, ensuring a high‑performing, customer‑focused, legally compliant, and value‑for‑money service. You will lead Area Repairs Managers, planning and admin teams, and contractor partners, embedding strong health and safety, staff engagement, risk management, and continuous improvement across the service. Working collaboratively across MSV, you will support the Head of Repairs, deliver the corporate strategy, and ensure MSV’s vision and values are consistently embedded in service delivery. 

In addition, we are looking for candidates that have a passion to advocate on behalf of people and communities.  

What does our Operations Manager do;  

  • Provide clear operational leadership for the Property Care Team, embedding customer service excellence and a strong, target‑driven culture across the service.  
  • Lead the operational delivery of repairs, ensuring full compliance with health & safety, statutory, and consumer standards to keep customers, colleagues, and stakeholders safe.  
  • Drive continuous improvement through effective use of systems, people, and processes, improving performance, productivity, and customer outcomes.  
  • Oversee planning, work allocation, and contractor performance to maximise first‑time fixes, value for money, and achievement of KPIs.  
  • Work collaboratively across the business to deliver innovation, service transformation, and a joined‑up, customer‑focused repairs and voids service. 

What we are looking for;  

  • Educated to degree level in Building Construction/Surveying or comparable professional qualification and/or experience relating to the post. 

  • Can demonstrate an extensive and strong track record of leading a customer-focussed repairs, property, or related function to deliver excellent services. 

  • Has comprehensive experience of successfully managing in-house repair teams, and partnerships with sub-contractors

  • Substantial knowledge of working within the construction / building / maintenance sector, with an understanding of asset management. 

  • Strong H&S Knowledge in line with the role and service. 

This is a hands-on role at the heart of the service that MSV delivers to our customers, so your effective communication skills and ability to understand with empathy the diverse needs of our customers will be key. You’ll be based in the communities we serve and will work under minimum supervision and as part of a team using a flexible approach.
